Former staff has been laid off.

Due to circumstances, former webmistress Elena will no longer be owner of Mysterious Souls. Instead, I, LaurenLCD will be taking her place.

A little background information:

I am the current webmistress of Novice In Tomboyism. I am layout designer, graphic designer, and reviewer there. I will take on all those responsibilities here as well, including one shots. I am majoring in Computer Graphics and Visual Communications in community college, but I've been using photoshop since around 2009. I majored in English as a high school student and am fluent in Spanish. I am currently 20 in American years and 21 in Korean years.

Anyway, that's enough about me. Here is the checklist for what needs to be done for the site.

the new webmiss of this site is Lauren, one of MYS SOULS original staffs. I thank her very much. I hope the legacy of MYS SOULS continues to the very end!!

i thank you all for all ur corporation. I am now going to dissapear from the Asian FF/ Entertainment World. I'm leaving behind my identity as Elena Mijares forever.

Hello, everyone and a very Happy New Year!!

To all former staffs & requesters :

Sorry for all that happened. Actually, nothing happened. That’s the problem. I got swayed by my personal life & got loose. I could not handle it & I did not have time. I’m sorry & I know it’s my fault. I just hope everyone would be kind enough to forgive & forget.

I will be handing over the site to whoever who thinks that he/she got thet strength n commitment to handle the site. I actually thought of shutting the site down but the staffs & I have done lots for this site n it would be a waste to shut it down. Most old request have been terminated except for few one shots that would be posted & sent through email to requesters. Unless informed, all previous requests have been dropped. I’m sorry for all that happened. So, the plan right now is to reconstruct the site n give it to someone who can handle it. Former staff need to apply to rejoin the site (Sorry for that. I have emailed you guys personally).

To all affies :

I’m currently in processs of going through the chatbox n email inbox to see all ur messages for the past 1 year. Affies page will be updated n edited.I will get back to u & reaffirm our affie relationship if its not too late.

The reconstruction would take about 1 month or so. I think that site will start operating by end of February. An I hope that I can leave the reins of this site to someone responsible fully by March & take my leave.

Poster/Background: 6/10 Eh, I didn't really like it.. its too simple.. I think it would look good with something more neater.
Forewords: 4/5 The forewords were good, It explained what needed to be explained, all forewords are is a brief summery and that's what you did!
Plot: 13/15 Yes the plot was good, I haven't read any story with this kind of plot, making it more exciting for me, I always love something new.
Flow: 9/10 I thought your Flow Is good, You don't linger and that's what i hate, you also didn't go to fast.
Spelling/Grammar/Vocabulary: 12/15 The grammar, and spelling was pretty bad, Like for example
'I putted it on' It should be 'I put it on' Things like that i noticed were in your story frequently, sometimes Like me for example tend to do that when they type to fast causing them to make minor mistakes like that. So i would just reread your Chapters before Posting making sure the sentences make sense.
Characterization: 9/10 I thought the way you portrayed the characters was good, how Changmin freaks out about what kind of person the fan girl is. There personality's made me laugh.
Orginality: 8/10 well, I have never read a story like this but i have seen some like this But it was original making me enjoy it a lot. I cant wait to see what unfolds in your story. And her background was quite original if i might say so.
Writing style: 9/10 I liked it, Even though there were quite a few errors in your writing it did not stop me from liking and understanding it.
Overall enjoyment: 8/10 I Enjoyed it! what takes away points is the errors in the story, but i think words matter more then numbers because i did enjoy it, I love story's that can make me laugh and this one did.It also made me curious as to what will happen to Rin!

*Your story title seemed to be different. It was simple but yet attractive.
Poster/Background: 9/10
*I loved your poster. The poster was so captivating. The background colour was suitable for the poster.

*Your forewords were brilliant. I spotted a few grammar mistakes in the forewords.
Plot: 8/15
*I’ve never read such an angst story before. The plot was filled with utter sadness. To create such a plot can be really hard. You’ve done a good job in portraying their sadness but you could have done better. Your main characters were ready to commit suicide because of their depression. So, you should have deepened the emotions and elaborated more.
Flow: 6/10
*Your story pace was balanced throughout most points of the story. Since it was a story depicting sadness, you’ve managed to make the story a bit dramatic.
Spelling/Grammar/Vocabulary: 6/15
*You made quite a number of grammar and spelling mistakes. There were the same recurring mistakes. Your vocabulary is average. You should have picked more dramatic and exotic words to express the characters’ feelings.

Well the title was a really good choice. Even though its used a lot. It also captured your readers and gave your readers an idea of what the story was going to be about.

I only liked the poster! I thought it was pretty! Even though it didn't look professionally done but it was still pretty. The background didn't match anything. I don't know why you added the background with the poster you made. And also the font was really hard to read I had to highlight everything for me to be able to read.

Well you didn't really write anything about your fic! You didn't add a plot/teaser, you didn't tell us about the background information. You told us the characters names but that it. it was a really bad foreword, there was nothing there! So I really think you should go back a fill it out! Tell us about the plot, characters so that you can capture the readers attention.
I gave you one point because you gave us the characters name.

I read some plots like this before but you wrote it well! You added some things in there that was unique. Since I don't really read vampire stories it was good!

I thought that the flow was a bit fast you didn't lengthen the story very well. It was somewhat sloppy. Since I don't know if all the things your wrote took place in one cay or not. Since you didn't really explain to us what the time was.
So you need to work on that!

There was some spelling mistakes here and there, but only small mistakes but its still distracting to the readers. Your vocabulary was basic you didn't use big words. You need to expand your vocabulary since its good to learn more words!

I don't really know about the characters personalities yet, you don't explain to us about the characters personalities.
and also the story was kind of fast so there was no time to introduce the characters like they should be.

Like I said on the plot it wasn't really original but it was good. You added some things that were fresh so it was good.

Your writing style is so/so. You write with dialogue a lot. Its more of what the characters say. But you're really good with details. You add details for the readers so when they read the story they picture everything in their head. And I love detailed stories they are fun to read.

Mysterious Souls was founded by Chameleon Khang, the webmisstress. After some time, Chameleon had to resign due to unavoidable reasons. Elena Mijares became the new webmistress to Mysterious Souls from then on. However, due to circumstances beyond her control, Elena had to resign as well. The current webmistress is now LaurenLCD who was once a staff member and is also the current owner of Novice In Tomboyism.

Title: 5/5 At first i didnt think the title matched it.. but then when i read the definition again it made sense and actually went great with the story.
Poster/Background: 10/10 Loved the poster and background.. Very cute.. proubably one of the cutest posters i have ever seen.
Forewords: 3/5 The foreword wasnt too great, mainly because it didnt really explain what the story was going to be about.
Plot: 15/15 WOW. Is the only thing i can come up with.. I have never read a story with a plot like this.. It was very good and interesting..
Flow: 9/10 Many people proubably said they wished it could have been longer.. But i think it went really well with the plot of the story.. and you also explained everything in such a short amount of chapters.. it actually surprised me.
Spelling/Grammar/Vocabulary: 15/15 It was PERFECT! I have never read a story with such good spelling,grammer,vocabulary It almost made me cry with joy.
Characterization: 10/10 I loved how you described the characters.. Really it made me laugh.. and i understood them in such a short amount of time.. Really A+ for you!
Originality: 10/10 Very original.. i dont think there is anything more original then this, When i was reading this i wasnt sure if i was dreaming or what.. (thats a compliment)

The Grading Process is as follows:

Then, after the webmisstress receives all the gradings of all contestants, the webmisstress will announce the contestant with the highest percentage as the winner.

The best part of all challenges which is the prize-
The sole winner will get a poster based on her/his favourite band by the graphic designer she/he chose and some comments/advices/tips on her/his designing skills by the graphic designer and her/his works like fanfics or artworks will be posted on Mysterious Souls’ weekly updates for a month, which is until 5th February 2010.

Since this title was given to you I don't think I'm going to dock any points!

Poster/Background: 5/10
The poster and background is really pretty. But pretty doesn't cut everything. The poster and bg should of been more dark because the story itself was dark. The bg was also very plain but it made the font easy to read. The poster was really pretty but I don't get why you put segals in the poster? Other than that it was good!

Forewords: 4/5
The foreword was okay. You told us the background information gave us your characters name and also gave an authors note. BUT it was really short. I understand that not all authors like to give information on their characters but it helps your readers know what their roles are in the story, in the forewords you only gave us their name.
The way you wrote your foreword was good! You wrote enough so that the readers got a clue of what your story was going to be about! So I'm giving you 4 out of 5 because of the length!

Plot: 13/15
The start of the story was really weak and confusing but after I read the other chapter it all came together! I thought it was really well written, it was different and uniqe, different from the other stories I read so far! I'm docking some points because the beginning of the story. The beginning of a story should be the strongest part of anyone's story because its the hook of the story. So next time remember to mske your beginning strong and your ending stronger.

The flow was good! It wasn't too slow nor too fast it was good! You did a great job at lengthening your time line plus the POV's it was really well done!

The spelling was good there were no mistakes while I was reading. The vocabulary was very basic, you should expand your vocabulary. If you do you will get a higher grade.
Your grammar was very confusing.
Right away I when I read your story I saw your sentence structure, and how you wrote your sentences it was confusing.
I closed the phone and I looked in the mirror that was in my bedroom really quick.
It was almost our promised time to meet, and we were going to be meeting at his house.
I'm almost dying to go and see him right now.
You word your sentences really weird because of the choice of words. So to me it didn't make sense it was also very distracting. This is also why your grammar is bad.
This is how you should of wrote your sentences.
I closed the phone and quickly looked at the mirror in my room. It was almost time to meet oppa. We were going to meet at his house. I can't wait to see him, I'm dying of excitement right now!

The characters were okay. I don't think there were much about the characters and their personalities. You didn't explain a lot about Jonghyun or the fictional girl. All I i know is that she was a psycho but that's it. I don't feel that you did a great job on the charcters there were little details about them. So next time I think you should use more details and give your readers more information about your characters.

Your writing style was neat and understandable. You used both dialogue and description. All was good but the details were lacking. ;; I seriously loved the plot, it wasn't totally that cliche. So there I was enjoying myself as I read through the first words of the story then bam! lots of questions passed through my head. Why did she die? Oh my gosh, why did Taemin ignore her? Then there the TV with the breaking news answered all of my questions. The story was really entertaining, and even though it's suppose to be the forewords' job, the beginning part of the plot made me want to read more :)

There were also these vocabulary mistakes, example is with 'Jinki Oppa.'
It should be 'Jinki oppa,' with the word 'oppa' not capitalized since it's not a proper noun or it's not a part of his name. We only use it to formalize our greetings or whatsoever, but unless it's the first word of the sentence, then it shall be capitalized.

Flow: 10/10
;; In my opinion, the flow isn't really that a huge of a deal since it just tells whether the story is too fast or not. In this case, this story only focused on two scenes and that are the scene of Yunni hurting after seeing Taemin with another girl and Jinki's birthday. The rest were all just reminisced memories, like the part of how Yunni died while waiting for him.

The foreword was good! You explained what the story was going to be about and the characters! The forewords also had me curious as to how the story would go and what the people would be like.

Ah yes the plot is one that everyone loves.. It is easy to guess what would happen but it still held its own making it enjoyable to read.

The Flow is good, now your proubably wondering why the heck am i giving you an 9? Well.. To be honest i really wished it could have been longer.. but you got to the things that needed to be explained and it was pulled together wonderfully, i Just wished i could read a little more of the story.

Yes i enjoyed it! It was really wonderful to read, I found myself laughing when she was painting the bike and Haru ran into her and she blamed It all on him.. Really it takes alot for me to actually laugh out loud and smile like a dang Idiot. I Hope you continue to write these wonderful storys and i hope you like the review.

Title: 4/5
The title is very interesting and different. Once I saw the title, I really wanted to read. I don't really see the connection with the title or plot so... But it is still ongoing so maybe you'll connect the plot and title somehow.

Poster/Background: 8/10
The poster and bg was very pretty. The poster included the cast, title, and quote. I also liked the emotions that comes with the poster, once I saw it I can tell that your story was going to be a sad or a unhappy story which was kind of true. I liked how the poster portrayed the emotions in the story. The background was plain, it didn't really have anything on it but the faded words/title/quote. It should of had the red and blue flower on the bg to make it seems less plain.

Forewords: 3/5
Your foreword was good. You added all the things that are suppose to be included in the forewords. You had a prologue, background information, and authors note. You also stated who the characters were in your story. The length was good. As I stated you included a prologue but for what I think; it wasn't catchy. While I was reading it in my head I was saying this is going to be one of those cliche story. So next time put more thought and dramatize your prologue a bit so it will catch your readers attention.

Plot: 8/15
Your plot is cliché, I think that it was simple and a very common plotline. There were no excitement while I was reading the fic. There were a lot of conflicts though. You added a lot of conflicts on how Jaejoong was too naive to tell Mia his real feelings and making Donghae help them find their true self at the end. It was good but very cliche, it was very predictable also. I think you could've done a better job with the plot you had, you could of dramatized it more and added a whole lot of stuff in it but you kept it simple.

Flow: 6/10
The beginning of your story was pretty fast. It would've been more interesting if you made your readers wait and anticipate the agreeing to fulfill Mia's wish, but you didn't do that. It all happened so fast so the emotion and happiness wasn't really there for me. And also when Mia went to live with DBSK, the flow was also very fast, because she felt comfortable and showed her true self instantly. Shouldn't she wait to show her true self? The feelings that Jaejoong felt for Mia was also a bit fast, a person can't fall in love that quick. I thought that your timeline wasn't very well balanced, in the first half of your fic. But the second half was much better. You did really improve on your timing, you lengthen the story's timeline well but it still needs work.

Spelling/Grammar/Vocabulary: 13/15
You had a lot of spelling errors, they were only small mistakes but they can also be very distracting, so reread and revising is a good idea.Some example of your spelling mistakes,1: buys = boys2: it = inSee they are only small mistakes, they aren't that big of deal but it is very distracting; like I said before. Your grammar was good, I didn't notice any grammar mistakes. Your vocabulary was pretty basic, you had a limited of bigger or exotic words. You used basic/small words, expanding your vocab can help you make your sentence or story more interesting. So its a good thing to expand your vocabulary.

Characterization: 7/10
Your characterization wasn't that clear to me. Your main characters were Mia and Jaejoong. I didn't really get their personalities. I get the picture of it but you didn't really explain much about their personalities because you had too much dialogue. You showed the readers more talking than descriptions. You need to work on giving your characters a stronger personality and make them pop out more.

Originality: 6/10
Umm... the originality, like I said on the plot section, it wasn't that original, I know that the plot was yours but it had a lot of similarities with other stories.

Writing style: 5/10
Your writing style is neat and understandable but you added a lot of dialogue and not enough description which leads to lack of details. I think you were too caught up with the dialogue that you forgot to add descriptions and details. Details is the thing that makes your readers connect with your story. Next time you should have a fair amount of dialogue and description.

I thought that it was okay. Most parts I enjoyed but then again other parts I didn't enjoy because it was predictable.
